Governance & Charter
The Coalition is composed of a Steering Committee, Secretariat, Communities of Practice, and Task Teams.
Participation in the Coalition is open to organizations and individuals engaged in or supporting STH-related work. The Coalition aims to function as an inclusive platform, enabling broad engagement while maintaining a focused and representative governance structure through the Steering Committee. Coalition structures will be supported by additional guiding documentation (e.g., Terms of Reference), as appropriate.
Governance Structure
Input Gathering Process with Key Stakeholders
Between January and April 2026, the STH Coalition conducted a structured listening process to understand what the global STH community needs from a relaunched Coalition. Twenty-six organizations and individuals were approached across five stakeholder categories and six geographic regions, including WHO and multilateral bodies, NGO and implementing partners, country program representatives, academic and research experts, and donors. Twenty-two participated, reflecting an 85% response rate. Findings were synthesized and shared back with participants for validation before being used to inform the Coalition’s Charter and governance design.

Charter
The Charter outlines the Coalition’s purpose, vision, core objectives, operating principles, and governance structure.
Charter Validation Process
The Charter was circulated for review in early 2026 and refined through an iterative feedback process before being formally adopted in May 2026. Key decisions, including the Coalition’s explicit mandate as a trusted coordination platform, the composition and selection criteria for the Steering Committee, and the design of Communities of Practice and Task Teams, reflect directly the signals that emerged from the stakeholder interviews.
The Charter is a living document. It will be reviewed as the Coalition matures and the STH landscape continues to evolve.
